We’re very lucky to get access to the library computer lab again today for your projects. I still need paragraphs from Liam, Brady, Chelsey, Kesha, Chloe, and Rhys please.

We’re heading down to the library today so you can access to the computers to work on your projects.

First, you’ll have to finish your series of paragraphs on the Hunger Games Backpack Auction though.

Today we’ll start with 15 minutes of silent reading. Make sure you’re always bringing your books now!

After that we’ll briefly discuss your Hunger Games back pack auction from yesterday. You will write a one page (5 paragraph) response where you do the following:

Paragraph #1: Explain the process that you went through in creating and bidding on the backpacks.

Paragraph #2: Identify similarities between our simulation and the opening of the Hunger Games.

Paragraph #3: Describe how you felt when you realized the bidding process was unfair. Why was it unfair? How were the Hunger Games unfair for Katniss and some of the other tributes.

Paragraph #4: Explain the connections this exercise allowed you to make with the book.

Paragraph #5: Conclusion: Keeping in mind that the goal of this exercise was to get you to make connections to the themes in The Hunger Games, what suggestions do you have if we were to do this exercise again?

When you are done, you have time for working on your Literature Circle projects. Due Monday December 10.

Today we’ll finish off our Hunger Games backpack auction and then you’ll write a reflection of 1 page (5 paragraphs).
