Analyze and evaluate ideas, issues, and themes in a literary text by writing a literary essay. Identify and analyze the perspectives and/or bias evident in texts. Create detailed reader’s journals that include my observations and inferences about narrative voice, characterization, and language. Draw conclusions about the author’s choices about different stylistic elements in my synthesis papers. Select and use ideas generated in literature circle meetings and reader’s journals to respond to prompts in synthesis papers.
