Today we read scene one of A Streetcar Named Desire. Then we analysed the three main characters: Stella, Stanley and Blanche.
Tomorrow we will complete the questions for Scene one, handed out in class.

Today we peer edited the film review of Cinderella Man.

The good copy will be due first day back from holidays: January 4th.

Then I handed out copies of A Streetcar Named Desire. There was an introductory note on setting and character. If you were absent, make sure you get a copy of these notes from a classmate.

Don’t forget to get those PSAs to me before the end of the week!

Today we worked on our rough draft for the movie reviews. It was due at the end of class so that you can do peer editing tomorrow.

Today’s agenda: We will finish watching Cinderella Man and then you will complete a film review that discusses the 4 manifestations of the American Dream and how the movie depicts this theme. I will attempt to post a copy of this assignment later today.

Today I showed you a few sites you might be interested in using to create your PSAs. Your PSA will be due on Monday. It’s posted on the class calendar.

Then we completed a note on the American Dream. You need to know that there are four manifestations of the American Dream:

The Dream of Making it Big

The Entrepreneur

The Rugged Individualist

The Perfect Family.

Tomorrow you will apply your knowledge of these four ideas by watching the movie Cinderella Man.

I was away at PD today but I left you with a public service announcement assignment. Your task was to create a proposal for three different types of PSAs. You will actually be making one of these PSAs. It’s up to you which one. You will have time to work on it tomorrow in class.

We began the formal business letter assignment that you will be writing and sending to the creators of the 4th R book club unit.
