Welcome back!
I am still collecting literature circle books. Please bring them in ASAP.
Your homework over the break was to finish reading Streetcar. We are now going to have some four corners discussions about the play. Here are the statements for you to consider:
1) Violence is glorified in this play and portrayed as natural and therefore justified.
2) Stella fits the pattern of an abuse victim.
3) Blanche deserves her fate.
4) Stanley deserves his fate.
5) Stella is likely going to stay with Stanley.
Next I will hand out your journal assignment for the end of the play. It is due on Wednesday.
Tomorrow we will watch the film version of A Streetcar Named Desire and you will be writing a film review for it. This film review will be the first task in your CCA.
6) In spite of what Stella says, she actually believes Blanche.
