Today we are going to go down to the library to choose some independent reading books. You may read fiction or non-fiction. You may bring in a book from home if you prefer, but I would like you to choose a book today from the library for back up.
Once you’ve signed out your book, please read silently. At some point this period, I want you to log on to the class blog and comment on this blog post. In your comment, tell me what book you’ve chosen and tell me what your first impressions of this book are.
Make sure that you’ve handed in your reading diagnostic from yesterday.
